Chemicals unearthed in Oildale construction site

BAKERSFIELD, CA - Crews building a residential development in Oildale uncovered some chemicals that could have posed a health risk to people in the area.
The work at Airport and Merle Haggard Drives was put on hold last month after crews unearthed black sludge.      The developer contacted the Kern County Environmental Health Department.     After some investigating, officials said it's crude oil left over from the former property owner, Chevron.
