Cheers for Chihuahuas event begins

BAKERSFIELD, CA- The 4th annual Cheers for Chihuahuas event is underway.

Organizers hope it will spur adoption rates for the cute critters.

It's happening Monday through the end of the month at the Bakersfield, Lake Isabella and Mojave shelters.

Adoption fees will be lowered to $25. Adoption fees are normally $85 for dogs four months and older and $75 under 4 months old.
