Centennial High student hit near school last week has died

BAKERSFIELD, CA - The coroner's office confirms the 16-year-old girl Centennial High School student hit near the school last week has died.

The office also just confirmed her identity is Ashley Ross. Bakersfield police say she was crossing Clay Patrick Farr Way-- in an area with no cross walk, when she was struck by a vehicle.

The BPD says the driver who struck the student is a teacher at Centennial High School.  Police have previously said no charges were expected to b
