BPD notifying community of fraudulent checks

BAKERSFIELD, CA. - The Bakerfsield Police Department is informing local businesses that there have been some fraudulent payroll checks bearing the City of Bakersfield seal currently circulating the area.

The BPD state the checks appear to be valid, and include checking account numbers and routing numbers, but they urge caution when encountering these checks.

The BPD advise calling the city of Bakersfield Treasury Department at 661-326-3762 if you suspect a check may be fraudulent.
