Bakersfield man dead after fatal hit and run

Still no arrest this after a bicyclist was struck and killed in south Bakersfield Tuesday night, and the person who hit him just kept on going.

It happened around 8:00 p.m.near Union Avenue and Panama Lane.

Police say the bicyclist was riding south in the middle of the street on a dimly-lit stretch of South Union.

Police blocked off the street as paramedics worked to save the victim, but he was later pronounced dead at the scene.

There may have been no witnesses.
