Bakersfield CHP officer charged with embezzlement

BAKERSFIELD, CA - Charges were filed Monday against a Bakersfield California Highway Patrol officer, accused of embezzling money from the Highway Patrolman's Club of Kern County.

Board members told detectives earlier this year that Officer Michael Kochanski was treasurer of the Bakersfield 420 Club and made unauthorized purchases on the club's bank account between 2010 and 2013, according to court documents.
