As drought persists, Kern River rafting businesses dry up

Several Kern River rafting companies have looked at the dismal snowpack and low ­anticipated runoff and decided to hang up their paddles for this year.

River’s End Rafting in Bakersfield along with Kern River Tours and Kern River Outfitters in the Kern River Valley have all announced they will not run trips in 2015. Kern River Tours and Kern River Outfitters didn’t run last year either.
