Action Line: Reclaiming your credit after identity theft

Dear Action Line, My wife's identity was stolen this summer. We don't know how it happened. We filed a police report and contacted a credit reporting agency.

Here's our dilemma: We received letters from credit reporting agencies telling us that credit has been applied for in my wife's name but because of the fraud alerts, it has been denied.
