35 new BPD officers to hit the streets

Bakersfield will add 30 newly trained police officers to its ranks by Dec. 29, and another five with more experience by the third week in January, Police Chief Greg Williamson said Tuesday.

The increases are the result of 30 new officers, recently graduated from police academy, completing 22 weeks of field training, and five others who have joined Bakersfield Police Department through lateral transfers f
