Workers at Fairmont Hotel recovering from carbon monoxide leak

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Two people are recovering in the hospital after firefighters evacuated them from the not-yet-opened Fairmont Hotel due to elevated levels of carbon monoxide.
The Austin Fire Department was called to the hotel located at 101 Red River St. around 3:25 p.m. Wednesday. Austin-Travis County EMS says they transported two patients. Workers and staff reported smelling gas inside the building, but no guests were inside.
