Wind Chill Advisory issued as sleet and freezing rain wrap up

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Heavy rain transitioned to freezing rain and sleet early today, and icing accumulations as high as 0.30" have been reported in the Austin area. Many elevated roadways are iced and dangerous, and travel is highly discouraged through midday Friday.A Winter Storm Warning is in effect areawide through 9 p.m., and a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Fayette County until the same time.As precipitation exits the area early this evening, dangerously cold weather settles in.
