Wimberley shooter had lengthy criminal past

WIMBERLEY, Texas (KXAN) – The man responsible for shooting and injuring a Hays County Constable deputy Friday morning had a long criminal history in the county.
According to public records, Rocky West, 26, had been in and out of the Hays County Jail since 2008. Many of the charges involve drugs or alcohol, but also include a felony theft charge in 2016 and an assault earlier this year.
