Ways to prevent head lice

AUSTIN (KXAN)- As kids head back to school, doctors want you to be aware of infestations from head lice. The Centers for Disease Control estimates 6 to 12 million children ages 3 to 11 are infested every year. The CDC recommends the following to help prevent and control the spread of head lice.
Avoid head-to-head (hair-to-hair) contact during play and other activities at home, school, and elsewhere (sports activities, playground, slumber parties, camp).
