Walmart fighting to sell liquor in Texas

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The trial between Walmart and the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission is expected to begin on Monday.
The retailer is challenging the TABC law that bans publicly traded corporations from selling hard liquor. Sec. 22.16 of the Texas state law restricts public companies from selling anything stronger than bee or wine.
In their lawsuit filed last year, Walmart says the law is anti-competitive and unfair to consumers.
