UT Austin proposes first major core curriculum overhaul in more than 20 years

UT President Jim Davis unveiled the proposal Thursday during a University of Texas System Board of Regents meeting. Under the plan, the university’s current 42-credit-hour core curriculum would be reduced to 36 hours and reorganized into three broad pillars: Arts and Humanities, Social Sciences, and STEM.
