Two rabid bats found in Georgetown

 
GEORGETOWN, Texas (KXAN) — Two bats found on the north side of Georgetown last week have tested positive for rabies.
The city of Georgetown says the bats were found on Sept. 7 and Sept 9. Animal control officers do not believe that any people had contact with the bat or have been exposed to rabies from the bats
“Not all sick bats have rabies and not all rabid bats appear sick,” says Kelly Thyssen, animal control officer with the Georgetown Police Department. “
