Tropical development in the Caribbean likely this week

AUSTIN (KXAN) — For over a week, the KXAN First Warning Weather team has been monitoring the tropics, as two potential cyclones are developing.

The one closest to Texas is currently labelled “Disturbance 1” by the National Hurricane Center, and it has an 80% chance of developing into a tropical cyclone in the next 48 hours. Hurricane Hunter aircraft flying from Florida was scheduled to investigate this disturban
