Tracking the arctic blast and the possibility of wintry weather

AUSTIN (KXAN) — As New Year’s Eve celebration planning continues, the KXAN First Warning Weather Team is tracking an arctic cold front making its way toward Texas. The initial front will arrive Saturday evening, though highs will still reach the 50s ahead of the front. The coldest air will begin blowing into Central Texas Sunday morning, with sub-freezing temperatures settling in for New Year’s Eve celebrations Sunday night. Wind chill readings could be as cold as the teens bef
