Texas withdraws request to block U.S. Justice Department from monitoring state’s elections

AUSTIN (The Texas Tribune) -- Texas has withdrawn its request to have a federal judge block the U.S. Justice Department from monitoring the state’s election.The move follows an agreement reached late Monday between the federal agency and the Texas attorney general’s office.
