Texas lawmakers react to passage of Senate’s tax bill

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Texas lawmakers are responding after the U.S. Senate passed a tax bill in the early hours of Saturday morning.
It passed mostly along party lines with 51 for and 49 against.
The final vote came after hours of voting on amendments, including one from Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, that would allow parents to use the 529 College Savings Fund to pay for private school tuition.
