Texas House Democrats join calls for special session after Uvalde shooting

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Democratic members of the Texas House will focus on gun violence and school safety during a news conference Thursday at 9:15 a.m.
A news release said members "will discuss common-sense solutions that deserve immediate attention from the Legislature and Gov. Abbott."
Lawmakers also plan to give a recap on a series of town hall meetings they held across Texas over the last three weeks to gather feedback from people on how to better protect students.
