Texas deploys disaster aid ahead of Hurricane Matthew landfall
AUSTIN (KXAN) — Texas is sending disaster relief to Florida after an emergency request from the state.
Gov. Abbott approved sending the resources in preparation for Hurricane Matthew, expected to make landfall sometime Friday morning.
The resources dispatched to Florida include Texas A&M Forest Service All-Hazards Incident Management Teams (AHIMT), which consists of 30 personnel. More teams may be added if needed.
