Texan who refused to give up rifle during protest acquitted
FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — A North Texas man has been acquitted of disorderly conduct-related counts for refusing to give up his rifle during a protest over the fatal shooting of an unarmed black suspect by police.
Jurors Tuesday found LaShadion Shemwell of McKinney not guilty. Arlington police in June arrested Shemwell for disorderly conduct/displaying a weapon in a threatening manner and resisting arrest.
