Temperatures plummeting as winter storm sweeps across Central Texas

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Temperatures dropped rapidly late Monday night as a strong cold front barreled through Central Texas. Temperatures were dropping 20º in one hour. Some Hill Country locations were below freezing before 11 p.m. As of 3 a.m. Tuesday morning, Camp Mabry fell right to 32º, with a few surrounding areas waking up to reports of light freezing rain and sleet.
