AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin's high temperature Friday afternoon reached 78° -- just one degree shy of the daily record set in 1980. Gusty winds and low humidity increased fire danger, leading to the spread of several grassfires in Williamson County.A strong, rain-free cold front blowing through overnight brings gusty winds and much colder temperatures.Saturday will feature beautiful, sunny skies -- but punishing northwesterly winds.
