Student News Now: Fewer students are enrolling in Austin ISD

Over the last several years Austin ISD has seen enrollment continue to drop. During the 2025-26 school year AISD had about 69,000 students, but the most recent numbers for this school year show current enrollment is 66,032. Those numbers are lower than what AISD was expecting and could impact their already fragile financial situation moving ahead.
