State Rep. Dawnna Dukes retires amid health concerns

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Texas state Representative Dawnna Dukes has announced her retirement amid health concerns.
Dukes won’t officially step down until Jan. 10, 2017. While her name will remain on the November ballot, Texas Governor Greg Abbott will call a special election to chose her successor.
