Scattered rain winds down as cold air pours in

AUSTIN (KXAN) -- The strongest cold front of the season sent temperatures tumbling Friday afternoon and also brought a severe thunderstorm to Lampasas. Quarter-size to half dollar-size hail was reported in Lampasas. That same storm went on to produce egg-size hail in Bell County driven by 50 mph winds, cracking a windshield.
One of the LCRA gauges 13 miles WNW of Lampasas measured 2.93", while many others recorded 1-2" of soaking rainfall.
