Rep. Talarico demands Abbott call special session for Texas juvenile prison conditions

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) – In a statement Thursday, Texas House member Rep. James Talarico with District 52 demanded Gov. Greg Abbott call a special session to discuss Texas juvenile prisons.In the statement, Talarico referenced a Texas Tribune report listing staffing shortages and conditions at the facilities that led to the demand. Talarico is a member of the House Juvenile Justice and Family Issues Committee, which oversees the state’s juvenile justice system.&ldq
