Rare snow event turns Central Texas into winter wonderland

AUSTIN (KXAN) — From the Hill Country all the way to Hays County, most Central Texans saw at least some snow flurries in their area Thursday evening.
KXAN received reports from a couple of viewers in Hays County who recorded 4 inches of snow in their yards. Photos and videos also showed a winter wonderland in Wimberley.
What started as rain in the Austin-area Thursday afternoon slowly turned into snow. Initially, it started as flurries being reported in the Cedar Park area around 3:30 p.m.
