Raising awareness during National Diabetes Month

AUSTIN (KXAN) — November is National Diabetes Month.
Almost 30 million kids and adults in the U.S. have diabetes. The disease kills more Americans each year than AIDS and breast cancer combined.
KXAN’s Gigi Barnett sat down with Dr. Sherwin Yen, an endocrinologist with the Austin Diagnostic Clinic and Susie Jockisch, a patient with Type 1 diabetes, to discusses a walk to raise awareness for diabetes research, community education and advocacy.
