AUSTIN (KXAN) — As you do your holiday shopping, you may want to think about gifting from a local small business.
Shopping locally allows you to find unique gifts and keep your money in your community.
Out of every 100 dollars spent at local stores, about half stays here.
If you decide to spend the same amount of money at a big box or chain store, only about $15 stays in the community.
