Police set trap for thieves with tracking device inside package

HAYWARD, Calif. (KRON) — Dozens of neighbors in Hayward, Calif., had packages stolen from their front porch. Despite dozens having surveillance cameras set up, it didn’t stop the thieves. So they teamed up with the police to catch the thief.
Hayward police used a decoy Amazon package on one of those porches – and it worked.
There are two people in custody as of Wednesday.
