Police cracking down on north Austin distracted drivers

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin police will be scouring north Austin along U.S. Highway 183 between Burnet Road and Spicewood Springs Road on Wednesday seeking distracted drivers.
Similar to the targeting on Interstate 35 last week, a Capital Metro bus will haul police around the city so they can look into cars to find drivers violating the law. When they spot an offending driver, a motorcycle officer will be deployed to track down the driver and hand out a ticket.
