‘Pivotal’ year for Formula 1 in Austin amid declining attendance

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Drivers and fans are preparing for the start of Formula One weekend at Circuit of the Americas.
Attendance for F1 in Austin has gone down each year, according to numbers provided by a spokesperson for Circuit of the Americas. In 2012, attendance was 265,499. Last year the numbers decreased to 224,011 during a rain-soaked weekend.
