New SH 130 to 71 ramp allows drivers to bypass intersection

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Starting Saturday morning, the ramp from westbound State Highway 71 to the 71 toll will open. The ramp, located just west of SH 130, will allow drivers coming from north and southbound SH 130 to access the FM 973 overpass and bypass the traffic signal.
The new ramp is expected to improve traffic flow in the area. No tolls will be charged at this time. TxDOT says they’ll start charging in early 2017.
