Meet Magnum: Texas DPS adds new K-9 to Executive Protection Bureau

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) has a new service member.K-9 Magnum, a one-year-old Belgian Malinois, is a newly certified member of the department’s Executive Protection Bureau (EPB), which was originally known as the Governor’s Protection Detail.“Magnum came to DPS from Poland and is trained to detect threats, identify explosives and enhance security operations,” DPS said.The new K-9 officer will help safeguard state officials and digni
