Man in custody after SWAT standoff on Riverside Drive

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin SWAT took a man into custody Tuesday night after a multi-hour standoff at an apartment on East Riverside Drive. Police were trying to serve him a robbery warrant earlier in the day.The Austin Police Department said the man saw police, he drove off to the 1600 block of East Riverside Drive. That's between Summit Street and South Lakeshore Boulevard.Officers called SWAT after the man went into an apartment.Officers used "chemical irritants" to try and bring him out. SW
