Man dies after car hits him in central Austin

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A man is dead after he was hit by a car overnight in central Austin.
The car collided with the man around 3 a.m. on Red River Street near Luther Lane. That’s just north of St. David’s Medical Center. Austin-Travis County EMS says the man killed was in his 40s. The medical examiner is on scene.
Red River Street is blocked off as part of the investigation. It will be closed in both directions from Duncan Lane to 37th Street. Drivers are asked to avoid the area if
