Man arrested after security scare at downtown DoubleTree hotel

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Department of Public Safety says a man is in custody following reports of a gunman on the fifth floor of the DoubleTree hotel in downtown Austin. There were no injuries reported.
A DoubleTree manager says there were reports of a drunk person in the hotel at 303 W. 15th Street near Lavaca Street. Police responded to the area around 12:40 p.m. While guests did not evacuate the hotel, they were told to avoid doors and windows.
