Lower speed limits along U.S. 79 in Round Rock goes before council

ROUND ROCK, Texas (KXAN) — The most dangerous stretch of road in Round Rock has city leaders considering lowering the speed limit in the area to make the road safer. Over the last two years, US 79, also known as East Palm Valley Boulevard, has seen the most crashes in Round Rock.
The Round Rock Police Department asked the Texas Department of Transportation to conduct a speed study on US 79 due to concern over a high speed in a small, congested part of the city.
