Long-lasting cold snap begins early Wednesday

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Temperatures have surged well into the 80s Tuesday afternoon, and to the warmest readings of the year so far in Austin. But a drastic cold front is creeping down I-35 into our area this evening, set to kick off a several-day cold snap along with the threat of freezing rain.The powerful cold front arrives in the Austin Metro area this evening, dropping temperatures into the 30s by sunrise Wednesday. While temperatures Wednesday in the Austin area should remain above freezing
