Lightning sparks west Austin house fire

AUSTIN (KXAN) – Multiple fire agencies battled a house fire in west Austin after lightning from a quick-moving storm struck its roof, said the Austin Fire Department.
The call came in just before 4 p.m. Saturday afternoon when people inside the home heard a loud boom and called 9-1-1. The lightning started a heavy attic fire at the two-story house in the 3000 block of Barton Point Drive just south of Bee Cave Road and north of the Barton Creek Habitat Reserve.
