‘Light Up the Night’ celebrates domestic violence survivors

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Light Up the Night was held at the Long Center, Monday.
The event, which in part celebrates survivors of domestic violence and their family members, hopes to bring more attention to Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
The gathering also marked Unity Day, which began in October 1981 in an effort to connect domestic violence advocates across the country at a local, state and national level, according to the Survive2Thrive Foundation.
