Langford Elementary evacuated for fire in light fixture

AUSTIN (KXAN) — An elementary school in southeast Austin had to be evacuated Tuesday morning after a light fixture in its gym caught on fire.
Austin Fire Department firefighters went to Langford Elementary at 2206 Blue Meadow Dr. before 7:30 a.m. Firefighters found the light was the only issue and put it out in a few minutes. It hasn’t spread, but crews are working on ventilating the space and getting staff and students back into the building
