Inflation may impact Austin's housing market, rural areas

AUSTIN (KXAN) — From record gas prices to high grocery bills, inflation is hitting hard.The consumer price index, which tracks changes in consumer prices, rose 8.6% over the last year, according to June 10 data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. The largest increases were in the shelter, gasoline and food sectors.
