I-35 northbound at William Cannon to reopen after deadly crash

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin police are investigating after one person died on Interstate 35 in south Austin early Thursday morning.
Police say the crash occurred on the northbound lanes of I-35 near the 290/71 exit around 2 a.m. Police previously shut down I-35 northbound traffic at the William Cannon Drive exit, but KXAN crews on scene say just before 7 a.m., police began to reopen the highway. There still could be backed-up traffic, though.
