How to restore your iPhone or iPad after the iOS 10 update

(WFLA) — Apple says it’s fixed the bug that was causing some iPhone and iPad devices to freeze while updating to iOS 10. The initial fix to the problem was to use recovery mode to restore the device. Here are instructions, from Apple, on using the recovery mode.
Use the recovery mode when:
iTunes doesn’t recognize your device or says it’s in recovery mode.
You see the Apple logo on your screen for several minutes with no progress bar.
You see the Connect to iTunes screen.
