Harris County reports first omicron-related COVID death

HOUSTON (KIAH) — Harris County reported its first COVID-19 death due to the omicron variant, which has become the dominant strain of the coronavirus in the last few days in the U.S.According to the Harris County health department, the death reported on Monday afternoon was of a man between the ages of 50-60, who was unvaccinated and had been infected with COVID-19 previously. The man also had underlying health conditions.
