Gov. Abbott, White House launch cybersecurity project to secure Texas water

Governor Greg Abbott announced Project Watershed 250, a pilot program providing free cybersecurity services to Texas water utilities. This joint initiative between the U.S. government, Texas, and private partners aims to protect vulnerable rural infrastructure through AI-enabled tools and vulnerability assessments. The project, involving Texas Cyber Command, will run for six months to mitigate risks following recent cyberattacks on state water systems.
